Fiber Engineer

Job Summary The Fiber Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks to ensure reliable and high-quality connectivity. The role supports network expansion, service delivery, and fault resolution across the company’s fiber infrastructure. Key Responsibilities - Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (FTTH, FTTB, backbone, and last-mile) - Perform fiber cable jointing, patching, and labeling according to standards - Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and light sources - Troubleshoot fiber faults, signal loss, and network outages - Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber infrastructure - Support network rollouts, upgrades, and expansions - Maintain accurate documentation of fiber routes, splicing records, and test results - Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards - Coordinate with civil teams, vendors, and field technicians - Respond to network faults and emergency maintenance when required
